The Nuclear Energy Institute is currently seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support its 130+ employees. This positions reports to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and is primarily responsible for the following areas:
Benefits: Administers all health and welfare programs, including a self-insured health plan, as well as retirement plans, and other miscellaneous benefits. Manages open enrollment, and handles employees’ claims issues. Processes monthly vendor invoices and generates invoices for retiree health care premiums. Must be familiar with ERISA and HIPAA requirements.
Payroll/HRIS: Manages all employee changes and maintains accurate information in the HRIS system. Accurately processes all payroll-related changes on a semi-monthly basis. Runs standard reports, or creates custom reports, from the HRIS system as needed.
Employee Relations/Programs: Participates in the employee onboarding and exiting programs, including the coordination, review, and handling of all appropriate paperwork and interactions with employees. Must be familiar with I-9 requirements. Coordinates a number of key employee programs including employee recognition, annual health fairs, parking program, employee engagement survey, and others.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or a related field preferred. A minimum of 4 years of experience as an HR Generalist required. Must be highly proficient in benefits, with a keen understanding of benefits terminology. Great interpersonal, organizational, math, and written communication skills required. Must be highly skilled in HRIS and custom report-writing, with a superior ability to focus on detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are necessary.
NEI offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including savings and pension plans. The beginning salary for this position ranges from $58,000-$73,000 and is commensurate with experience.
