Senior Meeting Planner
NEI is currently seeking an experienced Senior Meeting Planner to provide management in the planning and implementation of NEI's small to mid-sized domestic conferences, seminars, workshops and other special events pertinent to the NEI mission.
This position will provide overall management of hotel/event space, assist with contract negotiations, and with implementation/management of selected conferences and special events for small to mid-sized, fee-based, meetings. Furthermore, this position must be knowledgeable in the registration process, be able to develop budgets for assigned meetings, be able to manage assigned meetings on the NEI website and through mass electronic mailings, and be able to build relationships with attendees.
The ideal candidate will possess a 4-year college degree, with three to five years of conference management experience and a CMP designation preferred. He or she must possess the ability to develop and manage budgets, have knowledge of hotel contract negotiation, as well as a financial and marketing background. Furthermore, the candidate must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint & Excel. Knowledge of a CMS and mass e-mail production software is required as is familiarity with the iMIS conference registration package. He or she must be highly organized while being able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work while maintaining great attention to detail and accuracy. He or she must have excellent oral and written skills, with the ability to interact with executive level members, hotel representatives and NEI staff; particular emphasis on the ability to work individually as well as with a team.
