BWR Vent Order Implementation Workshop

NEI and the BWR Owners’ Group are jointly sponsoring this workshop to roll out the implementation guidance for NRC Order EA-13-109, “Modify [Mark I and Mark II BWR] Licenses with Regard to Reliable Hardened Containment Vents Capable of Operation Under Severe Accident Conditions.” The workshop will review the background of the order, including how it responds to lessons learned from the beyond design basis earthquake and tsunami events at Fukushima Daiichi in 2011. Central to the sessions will be NEI 13-02, “Industry Guidance for Compliance with Order EA-13-109: BWR Mark I & II Reliable Hardened Containment Vents Capable of Operation Under Severe Accident Conditions,” together with the NRC ISG endorsing NEI 13-02, which is scheduled to be issued in late October. Attendees will become knowledgeable of the order requirements as well as the accepted approach to complying with the Order. Distinguished speakers from NRC and the industry will lead the discussions on the first day. The following day and a half will feature more detailed and technical sessions for the physical and analytic elements of implementation.

Registration will begin Tuesday, November 12 at 7 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, registration will start at 7 a.m.and will remain open during session hours.
 

NEI will host a reception on Tuesday, November 12 from 5:30-7 p.m.
 

Continental breakfast will be provided Tuesday through Thursday.

Attire: Business casual attire is appropriate for the sessions and event.

Cancellation Policy:

Registration will close Oct. 29, 2013.  Please ensure that your registration form is received by Oct. 29, 2013.  Registration received after that date may not appear on the final participants list.

A $75 cancellation fee will be applied to all refunds received on or before October 22, 2013.  Unfortunately, refunds cannot be provided for cancellations received after October 22, however, we would be pleased to accept a substitute.
