Nuclear Energy in 2013 - Status and Outlook
The Nuclear Energy Institute held its Annual Briefing for the Financial Community on February 14, 2013, in New York. NEI's president and chief executive officer, Marvin Fertel, provided financial analysts with an overview of the nuclear energy sector's policy priorities, its 2012 safety and operating performance, the status of new nuclear energy facility construction, and opportunities and challenges in the global nuclear energy market.

Marvin Fertel, NEI's president and chief executive officer, briefed financial analysts on July 26, 2011, on the industry's response to the Fukushima Daiichi accident and the steps being taken to make U.S. nuclear energy facilities even safer. He also provided attendees with the industry's perspective on recommendations made mid-July by the independent Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Fukushima Daiichi task force in its 90-day report.
