NEI routinely writes letters to Congress, the administration and other policymakers on various industry topics. NEI has made a selection of these documents available.
On March 26, 2013, the House Energy and Commerce Committee wrote to Secretary of Energy Steven Chu on the U.S. implementation of nuclear export control policies.
On Dec. 9, 2011, Representative Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.) wrote to Secretary of Energy Steven Chu asking him to consider the U.S. nuclear industry's comments on DOE's proposed rule for 10 CFR Part 810.
On Nov. 16, 2011, Reps. Judy Biggert, Jason Altmire, Mike Simpson and James E. Clyburn wrote a letter to Secretary of Energy Steven Chu asking him to reconsider and repropose DOE's proposed rule on 10 CFR 810 regarding export controls.
On August 30, 2012, the National Association of Manufacturers, NEI and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce wrote to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on international cooperation agreements.
On August 31, 2012, the Nuclear Energy Institute wrote to the U.S. Export Import Bank in support of the application for the loan for export of U.S. nuclear reactor equipment and engineering services to the United Arab Emirates.
