Ted Jones Joins Nuclear Energy Institute to Direct Supplier International Relations

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Ted Jones, an expert on international energy markets and nuclear trade, has joined the Nuclear Energy Institute as director of supplier international relations. Jones will lead NEI’s efforts related to U.S. industrial policy in the nuclear energy sector, including international trade, tax and regulatory issues affecting infrastructure and export promotion of domestic nuclear suppliers.

Jones previously served as a director with the U.S.-India Business Council at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In that capacity, he managed trade missions to India with domestic manufacturers and suppliers, and developed industry positions related to market development. During his tenure at the U.S.-India Business Council, Jones was instrumental in securing approvals from Congress, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Nuclear Suppliers Group for admitting India to global commercial nuclear trade. Congress approved the U.S.-India Civilian Nuclear Initiative in 2008.

“Ted brings great experience and strong relationships to NEI and the industry at large. He will be a major asset in further development of nuclear supply chain activities that will aid U.S. companies in overseas nuclear energy projects,” said Carol Berrigan, NEI’s senior director of industry infrastructure and supply chain.

Jones previously was a member of the public policy group of a major Washington, D.C., law firm where he served as a legislative and regulatory analyst with a concentration in the energy sector.
