Visiting NEI
Sign-In Procedures
We look forward to welcoming you to Washington, D.C., and NEI. Here is some information to help you get around during your stay in the D.C. area.
NEI’s offices are located at 1776 I Street N.W. (Republic Place building), Suite 400, Washington, D.C. 20006. All visitors must sign in with the receptionist on the fourth floor before proceeding to the designated meeting room. Key cards are required to use the elevators in Republic Place. When visiting NEI, identify yourself to the reception desk on the first floor (street level). Either the building concierge or an NEI administrative assistant will escort you to the elevators and activate the card reader inside the elevator for fourth floor access. Elevators will not operate without electronic activation.
Sign in with the NEI receptionist and receive a visitor’s badge. This badge provides access through all secured perimeter doors at NEI. For multi-day meetings, visitors are required to scan their visitor badge when they leave for the day, but they may keep it and re-use it the following day to access the elevators to the third and fourth floors and the secured doors within NEI’s offices.
When leaving NEI, please sign out and return your badge to the receptionist on the fourth floor.
Business Services
- Telephones are located in and near the main lobbies on the third and fourth floors, as well as outside Conference Room 3D. Calling cards are not necessary. NEI requests that visitors using cell phones go to the lobby or elevator landing to avoid disturbing meetings in progress.
