Burg, Kingsley Elected to NEI Executive Committee, Cassidy Named to Board
WASHINGTON—The Nuclear Energy Institute has elected H. Peter Burg and Oliver D. Kingsley to its Executive Committee. Both men were elected to fill the unexpired terms of directors who recently resigned due to industry mergers.

Burg, chairman and chief executive officer at FirstEnergy Corp., whose term is effective immediately, will serve on the committee through May 2002. Kingsley, president and chief nuclear officer at Exelon Nuclear, will serve through May 2001, beginning in January 2001. Burg succeeds John Rowe, president and co-chief executive officer, Exelon Corp. Kingsley will succeed Corbin McNeill, chairman and co-chief executive officer, Exelon Corp.

NEI's Executive Committee, which sets broad policy for the nuclear energy industry, also designated Kingsley and Frank Cassidy , president and chief operating officer at Newark N.J.-based PSEG Power, to serve on the NEI Board of Directors.

U.S. nuclear power plant licensees and representatives of other companies involved in nuclear technologies are members of the NEI Board of Directors. Members of the board and its Executive Committee typically serve three-year terms, and officers are elected annually.
