Sept. 7-8, 2011
The Enhanced Inspection and Environmental Monitoring Initiatives Coordination Workshop will provide insights into the Ground Water Protection Initiative (GPI) and the Underground Piping and Tanks Integrity Initiative (UPTI) and means to establish effective coordination between them. The list of panel discussions and presentations includes:
- overview of NEI 09-14, Guidelines for the Management of Buried Piping Integrity
- overview of NEI 07-07, Industry Ground Water Protection Initiative
- overview of EPRI buried piping program guidelines
- overview of EPRI groundwater guidelines
- GPI roles and responsibilities
- UPTI roles and responsibilities
- overview of GPI-UPTI coordination document
- plant/fleet examples of coordination efforts
- comparison of risk ranking methodologies
We have designed this workshop to provide an opportunity for plant staff who are responsible for each Initiative to learn about the implementation activities of the other Initiative, and to discover which of those activities should be shared or communicated to enhance efficiency. In order to accomplish this, about 2 ½ hours of the workshop are devoted to panel discussions to facilitate “brainstorming” and the free exchange of ideas and good practices.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
- Those with primary responsibility for the buried piping and ground water protection programs.
- Others who may be interested include staff from these departments:
- chemistry
- health physics
- system engineering.
