EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS TRAINING COURSE
June 9-11, 2013
Prior to the EP Forum, on June 9-11, 2013, NEI will conduct the EP training course. There has been a significant turnover in EP department staffing over the past few years. This training course is designed to provide the fundamentals of emergency preparedness programs, regulations and program maintenance for professionals new to the EP discipline. The training also serves as a valuable refresher of program basics for individuals who may have been working in EP for a period of time.
The training course is designed to precede the forum to afford the participants the opportunity to better prepare for the content of the forum and to integrate professionals new to the EP community with experienced industry practitioners.
The two-and-a-half-day curriculum (commencing on Sunday, June 9) includes training on various components of EP programs and open discussion with industry experts.
Training topics:
• EP regulations
• drills and exercises
• EP training requirements
• EP program maintenance
• emergency response facilities
• NRC Incident Response
Who should attend:
• newcomers to emergency preparedness
• emergency preparedness supervisors/managers—
on-site and off-site
• emergency preparedness licensing specialists
• emergency preparedness trainers
• quality assurance specialists
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS FORUM
June 12-14, 2013
The EP Forum will be held June 12-14, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, in Baltimore, Maryland. This year’s forum will continue to focus on key areas of emergency preparedness during this time of transition with the implementation of the EP rule changes and associated guidance. These changes have significant impact on our EP programs throughout the implementation period that extends through 2015. While the industry works through implementation of these changes along with post-Fukushima regulatory actions and industry initiatives, emergency preparedness program performance is being challenged. For these reasons, attendance at this year’s forum is especially important. The forum will facilitate open exchange on issues of importance to the EP community: regulatory response to the Fukushima Daiichi event, rule change implementation experience and improving emergency preparedness programs during this period of transition. The forum also provides an opportunity for benchmarking industry EP programs and a valuable networking opportunity with members of the industry, NRC and FEMA.
You will hear updates on:
• EP rule and guidance implementation strategies and
industry experience
• Post-Fukushima related changes to emergency
preparedness programs
• EP program operating experience and industry
initiated program improvements
• INPO Update
• NRC and FEMA activities and
initiatives
• NRC inspection insights
• EP rule change implementation strategies and
industry experience
• regulatory activities, NRC, DHS/FEMA
• NRC inspection insights
• post-Fukushima related changes to
emergency preparedness programs
Who should attend:
• directors, managers, supervisors and project managers of
on-site and off-site emergency preparedness programs
• emergency preparedness trainers
• quality assurance specialists
• licensing managers/specialists
