NEI Licensing Forum

Westin Alexandria Hotel
Alexandria, Virginia
October 6-7 2008

The Licensing Forum is the annual meeting of the U.S. nuclear industry’s licensing community, which is composed of licensing specialists from nuclear utilities, nuclear steam system suppliers, owners’ groups, regional utility groups, nuclear service contractors, the Electric Power Research Institute and the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations. Nuclear Regulatory Commission line managers, project managers and technical reviewers participate in the forum, presenting their views on a wide range of licensing issues.

The forum gives licensees and NRC staff a chance to discuss the efficiency and effectiveness of a number of important licensing processes. This year's forum will include breakout sessions on the NRC acceptance review process, the use of risk information in making decisions about licensing actions, training on the backfitting process and other topics of current interest. Forum attendees discuss how the NRC and the industry can communicate about issue-resolution action plans, priorities and schedules.

The forum is intended for management, supervisory and staff personnel involved in day-to-day licensing interface with the NRC.
