System Gas Accumulation Management Workshop

As we enter the next phase of resolution of the Gas Accumulation Issue, as an aid to your generic letter response, NEI, in conjunction with the Owners Groups, will host an industry workshop on gas accumulation and work required to respond to NRC RAIs, prepare for Inspections, implement a Gas Accumulation program and provide training to Engineering, Operations and maintenance personnel.  On January 21-22, at Westin Savannah in Savannah, Ga., long-term actions will also be discussed. NRC management personnel have indicated that they will be present and will provide an RAI overview, updates on Inspections conducted to date and plans going forward. 

Please ensure your company is represented at the workshop to benchmark your efforts, understand the level of effort being performed by industry, and appreciate the priority of this issue as communicated by the NRC.

•    APC Criteria
•    Simplified equation
•    Pump roadmap project
•    Responses to NRC GL 2008-01 RAIs
•    OE
•    NRC inspections
•    Industry guidance document (NEI 09-10)
•    Training modules (Generic, Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance)
•    Plans for generic Tech Spec changes

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
•    Plant system and design engineering managers
•    System and design engineers responsible for gas accumulation management programs
•    Operations personnel responsible for venting and filling operations and procedure development
•    Licensing personnel assigned to the plant generic letter response
•    Project managers supporting gas accumulation mitigation and testing
•    Vendors and consultants supporting testing and evaluation of gas accumulation issues
•    Regulatory personnel responsible for system gas accumulation monitoring
•    International representatives from areas outlined above
•    Industry support personnel (INPO, EPRI or owners groups) responsible for addressing generic programs to manage and evaluate gas accumulation effects.
