Risk-Informed Technical Specifications Workshop

Westin Horton Plaza
San Diego, CA
February 11-13, 2008

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission recently has approved pilot applications of two significant Risk-Informed Technical Specifications reforms. Initiative 4B provides for flexible equipment out of service times, and initiative 5B removes surveillance intervals from technical specifications and places them under licensee control where they may be modified by a risk-informed process. These initiatives provide considerable operational flexibility for maintenance and testing, as well as a reduction of NOEDs and emergency technical specification requests. The workshop will provide detailed information for implementing these technical specification improvements at your plant and will address PRA technical considerations, license amendment preparation and plant implementation across various organizations.

Who Should Attend

Individuals dealing with PRA, licensing, work control and planning, operations, and testing and maintenance, as well as managers responsible for overall program implementation should strongly consider attending this workshop.
