The 2012 NEI/DOE Small Reactor Forum will take place February 27, 2012, at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. The Forum will precede the NEI R&D Summit being held the following day at the same hotel. Registered Forum attendees are welcome to attend the NEI R&D Summit the next day at no additional charge.
The 2012 Small Reactor Forum will be co-hosted by the Nuclear Energy Institute and the Department of Energy. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the current status of small reactor development from both government and industry leaders. Topics will include:
- Has the “policy case” for small reactors changed post-Fukushima?
- Is progress being made in establishing an appropriate regulatory framework?
- Will the U.S. make a sustained investment in both R&D and commercialization?
- Can we reshape our nuclear trade agenda to compete in the global clean energy market?.

Conference Information
Registration will open on Monday at 7 a.m. Conference session to start at 8 a.m. with breakfast beginning at 7 a.m.
Participants are invited to a joint reception on Monday evening which includes the Small Reactor Forum participants and the NEI R&D Summit participants.
Participants to the Small Reactor Forum and also invited to participate in the R&D Summit the following day. Please refer to the registration form in order to indicate your participation.
Please note that the starting times may be adjusted by 30 minutes. This page will be updated when the conference times are finalized.
NEI will provide continental breakfast and lunch on Monday.
For those who also participate in the R&D Summit on Tuesday, February 28, the program will begin at 8:00 am and conclude by 1:30 pm with afternoon visits to Capitol Hill. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.
Business casual attire is appropriate.
