Work Hours Rule Workshop

Hilton Ft. Lauderdale
Ft. Lauderdale, FL
February 28-March 1, 2011

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) rule on Fatigue Management has been in effect for more than a year.  The rule is complicated to implement, has resulted in numerous unintended consequences, and almost weekly has raised questions needing clarification of how the rule is to be implemented.  Many lessons have been learned during this initial period of implementation.  In addition, the unintended consequences have led the industry to pursue long term change in the form of a petition for rulemaking as well as short term relief in the form of enforcement discretion.  The industry task force has developed a draft revision of the implementation guideline, NEI 06-11, “Managing Personnel Fatigue at Nuclear Reactor Sites” to address many of the lessons learned and industry issues.

Join industry leaders that are responsible for implementation of the rule requirements to discuss best practices for rule implementation. This workshop will provide an opportunity to interact with key NRC and industry participants and equip attendees to achieve effective implementation of the rule.

During the workshop, the rule and associated implementation guideline will be discussed with an emphasis on providing industry lessons learned from NRC, program manager, audit/self-assessment and covered worker perspectives.

Who Should Attend

The Work Hour Rule Workshop is an excellent opportunity for companies implementing the rule to gain insights into the rule requirements. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with other utility leaders that are charged with implementation of the rule.

Station Management in Operations, Maintenance, Security, Outage Planning, Human Resources, Licensing and program managers for rule implementation will find the workshop very informative.
