NEI has launched a new website devoted to safety and the industry’s response to the Fukushima Daiichi situation in Japan. The new site is where NEI will now post its regular Japan updates and other related information.

The website includes information on a variety of topics, including these main sections:

• Japan: Fukushima Recovery Efforts – Read “NEI Updates” and the latest information on the Fukushima response efforts
• Industry Actions: Incorporating Lessons From Japan – Information related to the industry’s evaluation of U.S. nuclear plants
• Safety and Security: Planning Beyond the Unthinkable – General safety-related information at nuclear plants
• Public Health: Protecting Our Communities – Perspective on radiation and radiation safety at nuclear plants
• Ask an Expert: Answering FAQs – This section provides FAQs, video tutorials and access to experts for the public’s questions
• News – NEI news releases, congressional testimony, fact sheets, graphics and videos

The new website does not replace NEI’s main site for information on broader nuclear energy issues. Visitors to the new site will be directed back to the main NEI website through a series of links for information related to other nuclear energy issues.
