Nuclear Energy Institute Elects TVA's Tom Kilgore to Executive Committee

WASHINGTON—The Nuclear Energy Institute has elected Tom Kilgore, the Tennessee Valley Authority’s (TVA) president and chief operating officer (COO), to a three-year term on its Executive Committee. The Executive Committee sets broad policy for the nuclear industry.

Kilgore has served as president and COO of TVA since March 2005. He is responsible for the management of TVA’s power production, transmission, power trading and resource management programs, as well as TVA’s corporate functions. He heads TVA’s Executive Committee and chairs its Business Council.

Kilgore joined TVA from Progress Ventures, a subsidiary of Progress Energy, where he served as president and chief executive officer. He was elected to NEI’s Executive Committee at the committee’s July 6 meeting.
