NEI Media Briefing on Loan Guarantee Program for Clean Energy Technologies Set for Wednesday

WASHINGTON—The Nuclear Energy Institute will host a media briefing regarding the loan guarantee program authorized in Title XVII of the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Speakers will examine the relevance of this technology-neutral program to new nuclear plant construction, along with the steps that need to be taken to implement the legislation’s provisions. This program was created to support private sector investment in advanced clean energy technologies. A number of the projects that will be in the “first wave” of new nuclear plant construction are depending on the loan guarantee program to support project financing.
