Purchase of Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station Marks Continued Investment in Technology’s Future, Colvin
WASHINGTON—Boston Edison Co. and Entergy Corp. today announced that they have signed an agreement for Entergy Nuclear Generating Co. to purchase Boston Edison's Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, Mass. The following is a statement by the Nuclear Energy Institute's president and chief executive officer, Joe F. Colvin, in response to the transaction:

"This transaction clearly demonstrates that U.S. and international electric generating companies are investing in the future of nuclear power. These investments reflect the outstanding performance of our nuclear power plants and the importance of nuclear energy as an economic, emission-free source of electricity in a competitive market."
