Duke Energy’s Jim Rogers Joins NEI’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors
WASHINGTON—The Nuclear Energy Institute has added
James E. Rogers
, Duke Energy chairman, president and chief executive officer, to its executive committee and board of directors. Rogers fills the term that was held by
Dr. Ruth G. Shaw
, group executive for public policy and president of Duke Nuclear, who has announced her intention to retire from Duke Energy in the spring of this year.
Before the merger of Duke Energy and Cinergy in April 2006, Rogers served as Cinergy chairman, president and chief executive officer for more than 11 years. Prior to the formation of Cinergy in 1994, he joined PSI Energy in 1988 as the company’s chairman, president and CEO.
All U.S. nuclear power plant licensees and selected representatives of other companies involved in nuclear technologies are members of the NEI board of directors. The executive committee sets broad policy for the nuclear industry.
