Com Ed’s Rowe Elected to NEI’s Executive Committee
WASHINGTON—John W. Rowe, the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Commonwealth Edison Co., has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Nuclear Energy Institute's board of directors. The 15-member committee sets broad policy for the nuclear energy industry, which meets about 20 percent of U.S. electricity needs.

Commonwealth Edison operates five nuclear power plants (10 reactors) that provide about 40 percent of Illinois' electricity.

Rowe was elected at a meeting of the Executive Committee held earlier this week in Washington, D.C. He continues as one of the 60 members of NEI's board of directors, which includes representatives from each of the 42 electric utilities that own and operate nuclear power plants and other companies involved in nuclear technologies.
