Nuclear Energy Institute Elects Three New Members to Its Executive Committee
WASHINGTON—The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) has elected three new members to the Executive Committee of its board of directors. The newly elected members, who will serve on the committee effective immediately until May 2007, are:

  • Anthony J. Alexander, president and chief executive officer, FirstEnergy Corp.;
  • W. Gary Gates, president and chief executive officer, Omaha Public Power District; and
  • Gerald W. Grandey, president and chief executive officer, Cameco Corp.

All U.S. nuclear power plant licensees and selected representatives of other companies involved in nuclear technologies are members of the NEI board of directors. Members of the board and its Executive Committee typically serve three-year terms, and officers are elected annually.
