AFL-CIO Letter of May 31, 2012, to Secretary of Energy Steven Chu:  "The AFL-CIO believes the development of small modular reactors (SMRs) is an opportunity to provide clean, safe, cost-effective energy that creates jobs and spurs economic development. SMRS will enhance the options for U.S. electricity providers and will create markets for the U.S. to become an exporter of these clean energy platforms."
