U.S. Department of Energy, “DOE Says It Will Use Rail for Transportation to Yucca Mountain Repositor
Consistent with its preference for rail transport of used nuclear fuel, the U.S. Department of Energy selected the Caliente corridor in Nevada for the construction of a rail line to the Yucca Mountain national repository. The selection of this route will avoid transport through the Las Vegas valley.
