Nuclear energy already provides more than 70% of our nation’s carbon-free electricity. For the future, energy companies are preparing to build advanced reactor technology to meet our fast-growing electricity needs in a manner that doesn’t emit greenhouse gases. The next administration will find growing support for nuclear energy among environmentalists, business leaders, organized labor, political leaders from all parties and energy experts from around the world. We must begin now to  build new clean sources of electricity or face shortages in just a few years.
