The Learning Channel’s “Designing Spaces: Think Green” program on March 21, 2009 featured a segment on the environmental benefits of nuclear energy, featuring Florida Power and Light’s St. Lucie nuclear plant. The segment also included FPL’s renowned sea turtle rescue and tracking program.

NEI holds the copyright to this segment, which allows for companies to use the nine-minute segment to supplement other positive environmental messages in energy education centers and during open houses, NRC hearings and other public events. The segment will be broadcast again nationally on the WE Channel on April 17,2009 at 7 a.m. EST. The show also is being broadcast during additional time slots in these markets: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Greensboro, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
