Nuclear Performance Monthly - March 2008
Highlights:
- For March 2008, the average net capacity factor was 87.4 percent. This figure is 1.3 percentage points higher than March 2007. Monthly nuclear generation was 65.3 billion kilowatt-hours in March 2008, higher than the 64.3 bkWh in March 2007.
- For 2008, year-to-date nuclear generation was 200.8 billion kilowatt-hours, compared to 203.5 bkWh in 2007 (1.3 percent decrease).
- Since the start of 2008, thirty-three reactors have either finished or are undergoing refueling outages. In 2007, twenty-eight reactors had either finished or were in refueling outages at the same time last year.
- The average refueling duration so far for 2008 is 33.5 days. The average refueling duration for 2007 at the same time last year was 38.8 days.
