Radiation Safety: Synopses of Major Studies on Exposures to the Public and Workers
Nuclear power plants represent one of the smallest sources of radiation exposure to the public. A large number of scientific studies have focused on ensuring that they are not a risk to people living nearby. This paper provides synopses of major studies by such organizations and individuals as the National Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Department of Health, State University of New York at Buffalo, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Greenpeace, Steven Wing, Martin Gardner and Sir Richard Doll.
