The Port Gibson Mayor and Board of Alderman supports the efforts of Systems Energy Resources, Inc. and Entergy to construct a second nuclear reactor at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in Claiborne County, Mississippi. The Port Gibson Mayor and Board of Alderman recognize the fact that by increasing nuclear power generation will require designing and building new plants as well as operating the new facilities, which together will create thousands of new jobs to the area.
