Design Function Identification Training

July 15, 2025 | Online

Develop and improve 50.59 screening and evaluation skills with NEI’s training programs. The entire 50.59 process is oriented around the concept of the “design function.” During Design Function Identification Training, trainer Neil Archambo of Archambo EC will offer guidance to properly identify, classify and document design functions for any plant system or component, even if the impacted system or component is not described in the UFSAR.

The half-day course offers practical examples and skills, including the “cascading up” methodology, to reduce the burden associated with performing 50.59 screening and evaluations. This strategy takes a plant system or component from the lowest functional level to the highest functional level.
