Primary Purpose:
Direct all aspects of the NEI federal political action committee and charity giving. Plan NEI government affairs conference and other key political stakeholder meetings. Work with the governmental affairs vice president to maintain and expand a bipartisan political program in support of the goals of NEI.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct the NEI Federal PAC:
- Ensure NEI PAC compliance with all governing Federal Election Commission laws, including monthly electronic filing of all NEI PAC receipts and expenditures.
- Develop and implement solicitation campaigns for eligible NEI employees, member company representatives and member company PACs.
- Oversee planning of fundraisers and meet-and-greets for pro-nuclear energy members of Congress and federal candidates.
- Work with member company representatives to promote member company relations with NEI.
Direct NEI’s participation in the Republican and Democratic national conventions:
- Maintain accounting and budgetary functions for NEI co-hosted events.
- Assist with event setting and planning.
- Organize participation of NEI’s president and governmental affairs staff.
- Manage contract negotiations with NEI’s general counsel’s office and vendors.
- Direct production and distribution of NEI convention-related materials.
Oversee and maintain communication with the Foundation for Nuclear Studies:
- Prepare the CEO and relevant NEI employees for Foundation Board meetings in coordination with the Executive Director of the Foundation.
- Coordinate with NEI employees on relevant events.
- Work with Executive Director and NEI accounting team on dues check-off program.
Direct the coordinator, political affairs
- Ensure they maintain accounting and budgetary functions of the NEI PAC.
- Organize fundraisers and meet-and-greets for pro-nuclear energy members of Congress and federal candidates.
- Maintain accurate lists for the NEI PAC report and industry calendar.
- Organize NEI’s participation in post-election, congressional swearing-in ceremonies and events and NEI’s annual congressional holiday party.
- Oversee the governmental affairs conference including creating the agenda and inviting the speakers.
- Serve as an NEI representative at industry meetings and functions.
- Coordinate and liaison with relevant NEI staff in other divisions to ensure integrated approach to external activity.
- Plan and coordinate NEI participation at the Congressional baseball game.
Job Specifications:
- 5+ years as PAC manager, preferably within a trade association.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the legislative process and FEC laws.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills and political judgment are essential.
- Ability to plan, implement, and direct all aspects of candidate fundraising
events. - Able to work quickly to resolve problems at events.

- Bachelor’s degree required.
Pay Range:
For individuals who reside in the Washington, DC metro area, the salary range for this position is $171,200 - $256,800.
Typically, new hires are brought into the organization at a salary between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on factors such as qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted salary for the position.
