WASHINGTON, D.C.—In October, the Nuclear Energy Institute’s (NEI) board of directors elected four new members, as well as two new members to the executive committee. The elections took place on October 14, 2021, during the organization’s board of directors meeting.
Elected to the board of directors are:
- Pamela Cowan – Westinghouse Electric Company, president, Americas Operating Plant Services
- John Howanitz – Bechtel Nuclear, Security and Environmental, president
- Jay Silberg – Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, partner
- Adam Wright – Pacific Gas & Electric Company, executive vice president, operations, and chief operating officer
Elected to the executive committee are:
- Pamela Cowan – Westinghouse Electric Company, president, Americas Operating Plant Services
- John Howanitz – Bechtel Nuclear, Security and Environmental, president
Earlier this year, Bob Frenzel, president and chief executive officer at Xcel Energy, and Robert Schuetz, chief executive officer at Energy Northwest, were seated on the board. In September, Robert Frenzel was also elected to the executive committee.
The NEI board of directors is composed of executives from companies that hold licenses to operate nuclear energy facilities and selected representatives of other companies involved in commercial nuclear technologies. Members of the executive committee and the board’s non-utility members typically serve three-year terms, and officers are elected annually.
