State of the Nuclear Energy Industry

Last year the world (well, at least the world of nuclear energy) evolved with the introduction of the Nuclear Energy Policy Forum (NEPF). The forum focuses on bringing industry leaders, policy stakeholders, and clean energy experts together to discuss the future of nuclear energy and advocacy. This year’s forum is taking place on May 20–21 in Washington, D.C.

One of the highlights of the event is NEI President and CEO Maria Korsnick’s annual State of the Nuclear Industry Address (see more on last year’s here). Last year, Maria provided an update on the bright future for nuclear, laid out industry policy priorities, and shared her perspective on the present and future of nuclear energy.

Nuclear energy is a pathway to reaching shared goals including national security, energy independence, leadership in innovation, economic growth and a healthy environment. The forum focuses on bringing industry leaders, policy stakeholders, and energy experts together to discuss the future of nuclear energy.

This year, Maria will deliver the State of the Industry again, providing an update on this critical moment for the industry and how nuclear is powering not only the present, but the future as our energy needs continue to skyrocket.

With things like AI and data centers driving up our energy demands, the need for nuclear energy is increasing as well. For that reason and so much more, the forum will drive conversations forward and provide insights from a variety of experts.

Aside from the State of the Industry, attendees can expect a number of interesting sessions, including:

Funding the Growth of Nuclear Energy

The continuity and availability of tax credits are critical to both operating plants and new nuclear. Hear more from stakeholders on the legislative future for clean energy tax credits and the need for efficient implementation of these programs at Treasury and other agencies.

Panel: Propelling New Nuclear Across the States

Find out how states are preparing to build new nuclear to meet increasing energy demand and reach their economic and clean energy goals.

How Policy is Promoting Nuclear Innovation

Learn how policy support for nuclear is helping to maximize the potential of operating nuclear plants through activities like second license renewal and power uprates.

NEPF will have all sorts of innovative and interesting sessions like these and more. Want to learn more about NEPF and SOTI? You still have time to sign up for more info!
