It is truly remarkable that splitting atoms can transform into 24/7 carbon-free energy. The nuclear power that we rely so much on today, which will power our carbon-free future, is possible because of scientific discoveries made over the last 250 years.
Next week is Nuclear Science Week, which celebrates the contributions, innovations and opportunities that can be found by exploring nuclear science. This occasion is the perfect opportunity to examine how science brought us to where nuclear energy is today: supplying our nation with its largest source of carbon-free electricity and preparing to transition our entire economy to clean energy.
