WASHINGTON, D.C.— The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) announces Mr. Jeffery Lyash, president and chief executive officer of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), as incoming chair of its Executive Committee. Mr. Robert Blue, president and chief executive officer of Dominion Energy, will serve as vice chair of NEI’s Executive Committee. In these roles, Mr. Lyash and Mr. Blue also will serve as chair and vice chair of the NEI Board of Directors, respectively.

Mr. Lyash previously served as vice chair of the Executive Committee and is succeeded by Mr. Blue. In these roles, Mr. Lyash and Mr. Blue will guide the industry and provide oversight to NEI on policy affairs on behalf of the U.S. nuclear industry.

“I am thrilled to have Jeff and Bob lead NEI’s Executive Committee,” said Maria Korsnick, president and CEO of NEI. “With decades of experience and leadership in driving our industry forward, Jeff and Bob will continue to provide invaluable insights into the utility and nuclear industries, and position NEI to be a leading voice for carbon-free energy.”

The elections took place March 17, 2022, during the organization’s Executive Committee meeting. The NEI Executive Committee sets broad policy for the nuclear energy industry, which operates 93 nuclear reactors that supply more than 50 percent of America’s carbon free electricity. NEI officers are elected annually.
