NEI’s Top Blogs of 2025

Nuclear 101

A seemingly impossible amount of things happened in 2025. As we come to the end of the year, I know there’s one thing that is on everyone’s mind, and it’s not Stranger Things coming back or Spotify Wrapped. It’s NEI’s top blogs of 2025. We are true trendsetters in this country, and we understand we have a responsibility to share this with you. So, without further ado, I present to you our top blogs of 2025.

1. I Heart Nuclear: Going Viral on GameDay

One of the most popular shows in the nation leads to the most popular blog post of the year. Well, technically our blog about our podcast, Fissionary. College GameDay is where everyone goes when they’re looking for a college football pregame show. Enter: Gabriel Ivory. Gabriel, an advocate for nuclear energy, made the trek out to GameDay one day with his “I heart nuclear” sign and was positioned neatly in front of the camera. This all shows the importance of small acts in support of nuclear to change people's perception. He went viral for it, we had him on Fissionary, we wrote a blog about that Fissionary episode, and now we’re writing a segment in a blog about that blog.

2. Priorities for Pushing Nuclear Forward

NEI is fortunate to have plenty of brilliant folks who are knowledgeable on the technical side of nuclear as well as the policy needs to get nuclear built. Back in January, we published a blog laying out some priorities for moving the industry forward. It boiled down to three things: Ensuring continued excellence, accelerating nuclear development, and strengthening American security and competitiveness. Give it a read to learn more!

3. Closing the Loop: How Nuclear Energy Supports a Circular Economy

For Earth Day this year, one of our experts, Julianne McCallum, explained how nuclear energy is crucial for working towards our sustainability and environmental goals. As Julie says, “Nuclear energy is often recognized for its low-carbon footprint, but its contributions to resource efficiency are just as important. Whether it’s through reusing fuel, recycling materials, or extending the life of critical infrastructure, nuclear power fits naturally into the circular economy.” You can learn all about it in her blog.

4. Introducing Your Friendly Neighborhood Nuclear Energy Facility

When folks talk about nuclear, they often talk about it on a larger scale, but they often gloss over the great ways that it impacts the communities that the plants live in. That’s why we wrote this blog. We wanted to take a moment to talk about the clean air that plants bring to communities, the always-on electricity, the high-paying jobs, and more!

5. State of the Nuclear Energy Industry 2025

Every year our CEO, Maria Korsnick, gives a State of the Industry address at the Nuclear Energy Policy Forum. The speech always lays out the challenges and opportunities for the industry as well as the year’s success stories. We turned that speech into a blog for all to read and learn! Some key takeaways this year were an increased demand for nuclear from big tech companies, an update on private capital pouring into the industry, and the need to protect federal programs that help preserve and expand nuclear.
