✈ Where was I? At the end of July, we hosted the annual U.S. Women in Nuclear conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!
✍ What was going on? We celebrated the 25th anniversary conference and broke all our records while doing so. We had the highest number of attendees and had more sessions, speakers, and offerings than ever before. We even went big for our special event, holding it at Steeler’s Stadium. It was very cool seeing our logos on the jumbotron of an NFL stadium.

Favorite meal: Our staff dinner at Barcelona Wine Bar. We shared small plates, and it was delicious!
Notable quote or highlight: “Hype, Disrupt, Connect” These three words represent the NEXT 2024 Leadership program’s capstone and really became part of our mantra all week, with other speakers adopting it into their sessions. The energy around it was electric. The context of the quote is really to focus members on how to drive people into the nuclear workforce and making our industry an employer of choice!
Something you learned: I continue to be in awe of the members of U.S. Women in Nuclear. The energy that exists at a U.S. WIN conference is unmatched. Attendees create meaningful bonds, mentor student attendees and take away lessons from technical sessions, professional development workshops, and culture building sessions. I think more than anything, attendees leave the national conference feeling refreshed and renewed, and I’m honored to help create those special moments for attendees.
