WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) announces the election of Jim Burke, president, CEO and board member of Vistra, to the NEI Executive Committee. The election took place during the NEI Executive Committee meeting on March 24, 2023.
Mr. Burke has worked in the electricity sector since 2000 and has been an integral part of Vistra for almost two decades, holding various leadership positions since 2004, including serving as the company’s CFO and COO. In addition to his roles at Vistra and NEI, Mr. Burke is an advisory board member for the Tulane University Energy Institute, and he serves on the board of the United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas and the Ursuline Academy of Dallas. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s in business administration in finance and general management from Tulane University.
As a member of the NEI Executive Committee, Mr. Burke joins 17 other member company executives responsible for setting broad policy for the nuclear energy industry. Members of the NEI Executive Committee are selected from the NEI Board of Directors and serve three-year terms, unless filling a vacancy.
